For this recipe I used fresh walnuts that I brought back from resent holiday in France.
It takes a while to crack the nuts but I think it’s worth the trouble.
This is also great for using up any leftover nuts after Christmas too.
I have used Walnuts but any nuts can be used.
This cake tastes fantastic straight away and when still warm, however after a couple of days a lovely sticky layer forms on the top of the cake. As the cake matures each day the flavour and texture will improve, hard to believe but true!!
This is one of my all time family favourite desserts. Biscuit base and a chocolaty top layer – what more could anyone want? Great served on its own or with a scoop of ice cream.
A quick and easy way to make Jelly Sweets!
I searched high and low for a breakfast muffin recipe and finally found one in a very old recipe book belonging to my late great aunt. She used to be a school cook – back in the days when Steak and Kidney Pie and Gypsy Tart were on the menu.
As this recipe was very old I had to modify and bring it up-to-date.
I was invited to my friend’s house to watch ‘The Voice’ and wanted to take nice nibbles for her and her family – something a little special.
My mum has made these truffles for mini presents at Christmas time, so I thought it was about time I made them myself and improve the recipe!
I made white and dark chocolate truffles. White chocolate is a lot softer than dark and I have found very different to use.
Wonderfully, light and crumbly shortbread in under an hour.
Just perfect with a cuppa.
